Adaptability

I am able to adapt to many different situations. By attending a liberal arts college, the art department required me to take an equal proportion of classes in different mediums. Not only did I have to try all of them, I was expected to be proficient in each. I have also shown this versatility as the special events associate at the YMCA of the Rockies. Even though my job title was Special Events Assistant, I found myself taking on many different roles throughout the summer. This is a valuable skill to have, especially working with nonprofits like the YMCA because there are not always funds to hire staff members for specific jobs.
Multiple Mediums

I took courses in 2D, 3D, and 4D (New Media), producing a variety of projects. I can use woodworking tools, weld, paint, draw, make prints, take and edit digital photos, develop and print photos from film, collage, use Photoshop, make videos, and model 3D objects. Some of the pieces are pictured above.

Outside the Job Description

This summer as a wedding coordinator, when other departments at the YMCA were really busy and I was not, I took on other roles. I often checked in guests to their accommodations at the front desk (pictured here), assisted the conference department, set up tables and chairs for the conference service department, cleaned reception spaces for the janitorial crew. Some of the time, I also cleaned toilets.  Being willing and able to take on these other tasks was very valuable to the operation.
